Yeah, I didn't think the little furball would make the cut. The roomies are very particular you know, they won't keep just ANY pet. I could see that this one wasn't going to stay when they weren't adding any kittenchow to our bowl. Ahh Kittenchow, how do I love thee, you are sweet, and crunch just so, and I hope you always know, that I crave you when you go, but go you must, so Chow, kitten, chow! The ode to Kitten chow was written by a very famous Kat.
Its in my house!
I can smell it!
Its in my house!
I can't get at it because they keep the doors locked tight in the forbidden room
but its in there! Its in my house!
If you have thumbs
If you can read this
I need you to come to my house
I need you to open the door!
anyone!
I need to get in to that door!
I need to get it before it spreads!
If you have thumbs and any sense of decency you must help me!
Its in my house!
HELP!
But saddly it snowed and the outside it all cold and wet looking, so I just have to wait till its warmer. Then they'll be sorry!
When they get like this there really isn't anything to be done but wait for the kitten chow (oh manna from heaven!)
Yesterday was a snow day. It was kind of strange really because Dad suddenly came home in the middle of 3rd napping. He usually doesn't get home till 5th napping at least! Mom was so excited to see him she ran up and gave him a hug and a kiss, but then pulled back because he was covered in that cold wet stuff. she kissed him again anyway. They are so cute when they do that.
The snow wasn't very interesting to watch, which was kinda disappointing. There is something so pleasant in watching the snowflakes fall to the ground, it makes me so drowsy, but this stuff was more like hard rain and ice. The tree is all glazed and drippy now and there are no birds to watch. its kinda boring.
Ive moved from my normal wicker bed on the left to Basils warmer pillow bed on the right. It's not like he's going to use it. He hates the windowsill when it get too cold. He's got thin blood or thin furr...or maybe he's just old. He's watching me from the back of the couch. He likes to "survey things from a higher place" whatever that means.
well, its nearly 2nd napping, so I have to go.
NASTY STUFF!
The window is much to cold to sit in now for anyone but Pepper. (She's an odd one that Pepper)
you know she's taken to eating the garland off the tree even though each time she does it makes her so sick even I can't eat what she coughs up.
I keep telling her- "its not grass!' It's not even green.
She makes a good pet but she's really not all that bright.
Snow days can be a little dangerous and drafty around here. Often Kat or Michael will require my help to gage just how deep the snow is. I tell them they needn't bother there is no reason one should ever go out in the snow, but they are both so worrisome that they won't rest until one of them has carried me outside to the snow covered ground and consulted me about the depth of the snow by dropping me in it. It's a strange ritual and I don't see what they get out of it, so I was rather thankful that the precipitation was rather mild. The roommates do entirely too much outdoor activity in that cold wet stuff.
I was happily surprised to see them cuddle together on the couch watching Christmas's movies instead. Then Kat did her kitchen magic making the whole house seem edible. All in all for a snow day it was rather warm and pleasant.
Something exciting happened in the house today. This box arrived, I think it was in the basement. It kinda smelled like the basement but its hard to tell. At first it just sat on the bedspace of the main room. The near empty mainroom since my successful invasion of the forbidden room! I watched the box and sat on the box. It had a good height to it and I approved its existance....but then something very strange happened, She opened the box. inside there was...well it was hard to say at first. It was just this bristly green metal thing and she began to play with it. The the big man came over and began to play with it too. He pulled something else bristly and green out of the box and then suddenly it was a tree! They built a tree inside for me! My very own tree.
This tree is wonderful. It smells like the house, not the scary outside of the house. I love my tree very much! She wasn't done because knowing how bored I get she started hanginging dangly things and a big white stringy thing on my tree. Say what you want about people but she is just wonderful isn't she? My only complaint is that the tree isn't very strong. All attempts to get at the better things to bat at, near the middle or top of the tree has met with failure, But, I won't give up. She made that tree for me and I'm determined to play with every last inch of it!

I don't have time to write today its supposed to snow you see, and snow makes the air so sleepy, I can hardly hold my eyes up. Mom and dad put the tree up this year. I had completely forgot that they did that. I watched them from the window. Mom still hasn't mastered the art of the caterwaul and made the most horrendous noises while hanging teasers and dangles on the tree. I don't think they spend enough time outside. We need a nest in that thing and birds! Birds would be wonderful wouldn't they? Well, forget about it. There will be no birds in our tree. Mom and Dad, in their fear of flying things, wrapped the tree with a fuzzy white snake. Anybird who might have been lored into the house by the tree is bound to stay away in fear of that snake.
It makes me sad for them, Mom and Dad try so hard, they really do. I have taken it upon myself to help them, by eating the snake off the tree. They make that difficult because they bought new spitters and Mom and day spit at me when they catch me eating the snake. They don't know I am only trying to help. I hate spitters. So far I have swallowed and then caughed up about 2 feet of that snake, but there is so much of it.
The snow has started, I need to nap now.

Oh, the tree?
Yeah, I did that.
Not by myself ofcourse, it was me and the roomies. Michael and Kat brought the box up from the basement and then Kat started to pull treebits out of the box. I jumped into the box as soon as I could to make sure it was safe for her. She was busy preening the tree. She's very industrious. Michael helped assemble the tree. He is very strong. Then the kitten, Dalys came in, I like her. She and Kat opened lots of boxes and hung balls and little toys, in careful spaces all over the tree. There are a few balls that are out of place. I've managed to knock them loose so that Michael can rehang them. I trust his judgment on these things.
